Balsfjord Chalet

Balsfjord log cabin is situated by the lovely Inverkirkaig bay, just south of the local village of Lochinver, in Assynt, on the spectacular North-West coast of Scotland.

Large enough to accommodate up to four people (with two bedrooms), the cabin overlooks Inverkirkaig bay which is less than 50 metres away and is ideal for a relaxing holiday or as a centre for walking, cycling, mountaineering, bird watching, loch and sea fishing etc.

The local area of Assynt and Inverpolly contains some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain, with steep, spectacular mountains, pristine white-sand beaches, tranquil lochs and magnificent sunsets. Our local mountain is Suilven, one of the most famous in Scotland which dominates the local surroundings.

Depending on your route, Inverkirkaig is some 35 miles North of Ullapool by road, and just under 2 hours drive from Inverness. The local road is known as the ‘Wee Mad Road’ and passes through the Inverpollaidh nature reserve, over steep hills with marvellous views, and round rocky bays.

The holiday cottage is available to rent , and while the surroundings are effortlessly beautiful throughout the year, the landscape is especially exquisite in late Autumn and Winter. Whilst the peace and quiet are especially looked for in a destination such as this, there are also many things to do and see, with possible activities ranging from mountaineering, fishing, visiting beaches or geological sites, to island tours, or eating out at some top quality local restaurants.
